What is Fu Cha?

In China Fu Cha is known as the Miraculous tea from the Silk Road Fucha tea is still a vital part of the daily regime the nomadic peoples of Northwest China, Mongolia and Tibet they drink Fu Cha every day without fail consuming more than 18kg per person every year. The nomadic people of these areas live in an extremely harsh climate year in and out where it is cold and dry. Their dietary intake consists of eating quite a lot of meat with high fat content - such as beef and lamb, there are very little vegetables available and yet these people do not display the incidence of obesity and other physical ailments that affect western society today. They believe the reason for this is that they consume Fu Cha on a daily basis.

Kurocha (koo-ro-cha) is a post-fermentation tea it is very expensive and highly valued. Kurocha is kept in conditions of high temperature and high humidity where airborne microbes ferment it. As time passes, this tea increases in mellowness, depth and flavour and becomes easy to drink. Pu-erh tea is the most well known type in Japan. Kurocha takes many forms: There is Heicha that has been compressed into a disc shape, Toucha is compressed into a bowl-shape, and this is but an example of the two most popular forms that Kurocha presents itself, there are many more. Kurocha is a much-discussed tea with regard to diet and the prevention of geriatric diseases as it is claimed that Kurocha promotes digestion and is effective in washing away fat inside the body.

It is the final process of the Kurocha that produces the miraculous Fu Cha, which is very unique. Fu Cha is distinguished by the fine yellow powder, called the Golden Flower that it yields during the final forty days of the manufacturing process when the tea is dried, this is not at all like Oolong, Pu-erh, Hanacha and Black tea it is unique to Fu Cha. High grade Fucha carefully selects only young leaves with three leaves on one stem. The long fermentation process and the unique property of the Golden Flower which is a type of metabolic and digestive it is also rich in catechin, dietary fibre and amino acids. With an abundance of vitamins and minerals such as calcium iron and zinc, it is very gentle on ones body with the extremely low caffeine content (less than that of green tea) it is recommended as a daily drink for adults and children.

The golden flower needs 4 specific conditions to form

1. Kurocha
2. Temperature
3. Humidity
4. Equal ratio of stalk and tea leaves

If these conditions are not met or in balance the Golden Flower will not form.
Taking a closer look at todays modern diet, in contrast of that of 1956, the reality is that while we are consuming over five time more meat on average per person, we have not increased our daily intake of vegetables consistent with that of a balanced diet. The diet of our modern western society has come to resemble that of the Northwestern Chinese, Mongolian and Tibetan nomadic people. Consequently, we should consider the nomadic peoples Fu Cha Health Method to be extremely beneficial in the maintenance of our health as modern day people. By drinking Fucha in conjunction with a natural diet it is possible to maintain ones health to offset the disturbance to the balance of nutrients and minerals that occur during dieting (another consequence of our modern society).
